After a few hours had passed, the pirate ship had reached the shore of the misty island. Anne cranked the lever, dropping the walking ramp down to the ground.
I wonder if the Dark Messenger is on this island, the fog is perfect and it's just what they've described it to be. I must challenge him. His weapon would be perfect for me. Anne thought to herself in her head.
"I won't be gone too long, you guys. I suggest that you do not follow me, either." Anne said with a serious tone in her voice. "If I don't come back by noon tomorrow, just set sail to the island we were supposed to go to."
Anne held her dragon's eye firmly in her hand and walked down the ramp and dissappeared into an extremely foggy tropical forest. She was weaponless, but was determined to get one. She noticed that the whole island had a creeping, haunting feel to it.

Fearn looked up from where she had been scratching "Elka loves Mr. Zombie" into the deck. "Sure, whatever. Don't die. I'll just do a few things here," she said without looking up.
Yawning, Fearn picked herself up and started to work at cleaning zombie and hydra off the ship. Better to make herself useful than to just sit around. After a few minutes though, she got bored, and gave up. the seagulls could eat whatever rubbish the monsters had left behind.
"I'm going to take Aurum out, I think," she announced, walking over to the stable. she snapped on the pony's lead rope, and after a few minutes of staring blankly, figured out how to get the ramp down. That done, she marched off the ship, pulling Aurum after her. The pony bolted for the shore as soon as she was into the shallow water, dragging a very grumpy, loudly yelling Fearn after her. On shore, Fearn looked around, unsure of what to do next. The fog was rather troubling to her. She wanted to explore, but was afraid of getting lost. Still, getting off only to climb back into the ship again would look stupid. With a sigh, Fearn vaulted up onto Aurum's back and nudged her with her heels, so that the pony walked into the forest. Curiousity was getting the better of her, and Fearn needed to have a look around.
A few yards into the woods, Aurum stopped suddenly. Fearn kicked her like a little kid in karate class, but the pony refused to move forwards. Wondering why, Fearn slid off and walked out in front. "Geez, Aurum, I don't see anything," she began, when a bright yellow snake dropped down out of a branch above her head.
"*&^$%!!! No one ever said there were pit vipers!" Fearn screeched, hopping backwards, and chucking her dagger at the snake. As it slithered off, hissing in an offended way, she snatched up her dagger and moved back. Hastily climbing back onto Aurum, Fearn wondered if this exploring business was really a good idea after all.

Peregrinus didn't like the thought of people just wondering into the unknown fog. Only a rather experienced ranger could navigate through this dense a fog. Plus the entire island was surrounded by it. Who knew what was out there? However, before he could make up his mind to say anything, Anne and Fearn both disappeared into the fog.
"Well, just perfect. I'm guessing I'm the one who will have to find them when they get lost." Pere muttered to himself as he moved over to Sly and gently rubbed his feathers.
"At least, you aren't as stupid..."

By this time, Anne was deep in the fog but she was already used to this type of thing. She kept walking north, which would eventually lead her to the center of the mysterious island. The vines, leaves, and bushes grew thicker and thicker. Anne stooped down to a cluster of rocks and picked one, and started sharpening it against a larger rock. In the process, a giant black panther with red glowing eyes was watching her from a high tree branch.
Before Anne could finish up, the panther pounced down to her but Anne rolled out of the way before he landed on her. Anne grasped onto the panther's front arm in the elbow area, stood up quickly, then pulled the panther's arm in the opposite direction its supposed to go while she thrust her foot forcefully on the middle of his shoulder blades. It all happened within seconds, but eventually, the Panther's front arm had been dislocated from its socket. The creature thrashed on the ground madly.
"Hmph." Anne grunted at the panther. Suddenly, another panther pounced down at her from a tree, mouth wide open. Anne ducked somewhat and swiftly threw her semi-sharp rock into the animal's throat, sidestepping out of the way as the creature crashed lifelessly to the ground. The panther had managed to scratch Anne on the right side of her face as he soared past her before the rock went into his throat. "Great, the whole pack will smell my blood in no time." Anne growled, trying to wipe the blood away unsuccessfully.

Dante who was below deck checking out any damages came back up. "I Agree....walking into the unknown is not the smartest thing to be doing.....Yep i bet almost any second we're gonna hear a scream and me and you are going to have to check. Then when we find where the scream came from we're gonna find out it was Fearn and she probably saw something creepy. Then some ghost is going to have us exactly where he want's us...in a big group....Then we're going to probably meet up with Anne and then the ghost is gonna start picking us off. One by one.....He would probably get me first since im the funny comic relief guy...then he'll get you, then Anne, Then Elka, Then Fearn and Knight will be all alone. Untill it gets Knight. Then Fearn is going to have to survive and come and find us and hopefully we will all survive....Yep thats what i think will happen." He said then walked over to the front of the ship and looked over into the misty island. He had a bad feeling about that place.

"Hey!" Elka shouted over at Dante. "I'm not going to get my head ripped off any time soon, thank you very much. I'm just going to see where Yelena got off to. I'm getting bored on this boat."
Elka let out a whoop of laughter and chased down the gangplank after Fearn, Rolf splashing in the water after her.
Reaching the jungle, she almost immediately got her hair tangled in long, spiny vines. Angrily, she yanked the plants out and crashed through the brush to Fearn and Aurum, who apparently had just seen a snake. "Ever thought of being a herpetologist?" Elka asked Fearn sarcastically, looking at the trees for more reptiles. "You certainly do seem good at catching snakes."

"Ever thought of being an elephant? You certainly do seem good at making a racket," Fearn snapped back. She slid off Aurum again, and found a boulder to sit on. "I'm hungry. Might as well eat lunch now."
Fearn dug a half eaten biscut out of her pocket, and ripped it in two. She shoved the bitten part in her mouth, and pitched the other half at Elka's face. "Want some?" she said, grinning evily.
A snarling noise and a lot of crashing came from Fearn's left, startling her into falling off the boulder. She stood up, brushing mud off her rear and growling to herself. "Ten runes that was Knife getting mauled by a rampaging giant chicken," she commented. "Should we go check it out?"
Not waiting for a reply, Fearn ran off, pulling Aurum behind her.
Reason for Editing: They don't use dollars there, do they?

The piercing cry of a large cat echoed through the fog. Pere immediately turned his head towards the sound. Turning to the falcon, the ranger gently picked him up. Pere whispered a set of instruction to the bird before tossing it into the air. Catching the wind, the bird was gone from sight in seconds.
"Be safe, friend." Pere said softly as he watched Sly disappear. Turning to Dante, he began to make sure all of his equipment was in check.
"I sent him as a precaution. He will find out if we are needed or not."

Anne could barely see a few inches in front of her face because the fog was so thick. She started to hear alot of disturbance in the bushes and trees around her along with a collection of low growling. Rather than waiting to be completely surrounded by a hungry family of panthers, Anne took off running. The fog slowed Anne down tremendously and the predators were quickly gaining on her. Unluckily, she got a piece of her clothes caught on a branch and jerked herself away so hard that it made her crash into the ground.
The princess eventually opened her eyes, wondering if she was dead or not and was in a dark, damp, and rocky area. She looked up, noticing that the rocks she fell on had caved in and caused an opening to an unknown path. The hole she fell through was very high up above her head. "This place has "booby trap"written all over it." Anne looked at the underground temple hallway, noticing some death traps right off. "I hope everyone else is doing okay.."

"Yeah be safe little guy." He said then waved to it. He watched the bird fly away untill he heard something run up the bridge. He looked in that direction and saw nothing. Then he heard another noise and looked behind him. When he looked he saw some guy out fitted in full camo. Before Dante could say anything the guy shot him in the neck with a dart that made him fall to the ground.
I knew i would be first.... Was his final thought before he blacked out.

Fearn darted on through the forest, enjoying the run. If it wasn't for the snakes and nasty fog, she could have been back 'home'. She stopped, seeing a dead animal sprawled out on the ground in front of her, and blood everywhere. "Cows, that's disgusting," she muttered, stepping around the body carefully.
As an after thought, she pulled off Aurum's halter. "Right, you stay here and don't meet any big kitties," she intstructed. Aurum flicked her tail in her face and went to graze, giving Fearn the evil eye. "Thanks, golden-rumped warthog."
Fearn continued trying to find Anne, but the princess seemed to have disappeared. Looking curiously at some scratches in a tree Fearn noticed that the claw sizes didn't match up with the dead animal's. As if confiming her ideas, a yowling black shape lunged out at her.
"Whoa, bad kitty!" Fearn yelped, backing up. Bad Kitty kept creeping forwards, though, and Fearn bolted. Of course, Bad Kitty then assumed she was yummy prey, and gave chase.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elka tossed Fearn's stale buiscut to Rolf (who thoroughly enjoyed it), and ran after Fearn through the jungle. She had almost caught up when Fearn came charging toward her, Bad Kitty in tow.
"You idiot, Yelena, running from a panther! I'm gonna kill you, you brainless..." Elka snapped, standing as still as she could while still taking the time to yank out her dagger. She threw it hurriedly, not even taking the time to check her aim.
The knife flew through the air, aiming straight for the panther's head. Thinking she had a sure hit, Elka turned to run away with Fearn when she head an angry roar from behind her. Whirling around, she saw that she had indeed hit the panter, but not how she had hoped. Instead, the knife jutted out of Bad Kitty's ear like some sort of outlandish earing. Nice, Elka, really classy, she thought, this time pulling out her other knife as te panther leapt toward them.

Pere turned and watched as Dante was suddenly shot in the neck. As the guy fired another dart in his direction, the ranger leapt over the edge of the ship, grabbing hold of the cargo net along the side of it. Kicking hard off the side of the ship, Pere swung back up. He drew the large knife from his pocket and sent it spinning towards the mysterious man.
Meanwhile, Sly was flying low over the trees trying unsuccessfully to see any sign of life. Suddenly, the noise of a chase caught his ears and he swooped in lower for a better look. As the panther leapt to attack Elka, the falcon drove its talons into the panther's eyes quickly swooping back into the mist above.

Fearn jumped as Sly swooped down to rip at the panther's eye. "What the hey? Isn't that Peregrinus's bird?" she said, backing away from the furious cat. The panther yowled and hissed loudly, raking at the air in front of it with its claws and snapping madly. It didn't seem to be able to tell where Fearn and Elka were, and after a few minutes of stumbling around, the panther dove off into the underbrush, leaving a trail of blood behind it.
"Lovely," Fearn muttered, wrinkling her nose. "Come on, let's get outta here before all his buddies come."
Trotting off down the path Anne had made, Fearn's attention was caught by a little side trail. She was curious as to where it went, and cautiously started down it. The vines were very thick, and combined with the fog, she could hardly see where she was going. Suddenly, the path ended, stopping in front of a sheer rock face. Frustrated, Fearn plopped down on a log. Fat lot of good that did. Hooray for me, I found a dead end, she thought bitterly. Then she started to get the weird feeling that someone was watching her.
"Elka! Cut it out!" she barked into the brush. "It's not funny!"
Fearn looked behind her wildly, but saw nothing. She pulled away some vines covering the rock behind her, and nearly screamed. A lithograph of a decapitated head had been etched into the rock, the mouth contorted in a scream. Fearn jumped up and ran for it, sprinting faster than she thought possible. "Geez, there's a head thing!" she yelled as she flew past Elka.
She only stopped her mad dash when all of a sudden there was no more ground to step on in front of her. Flailing her arms madly, Fearn managed not to fall into the pit, but came very close. Shaken, she looked down into the hole, and saw movement.
"Knife?" she asked, hoping it really was the woman and not a headless monster.

The man caught the blade with his bare hand. He took the blade with his other hand and saw that it was stained with his blood. He looked at his hand that had been cut. Then he licked the blood of the knife and ran towards Pereginus with the knife in his hand. Then he stopped right in front of him and smiled. Then he went and picked up Dante and threw him over his shoulder. He looked at Pereginus. "Welcome to my Island. That is booby trap infested. If you want you little friend back you will have to come and get him in the center of the Island. Might want to hurry and find him though. With that shot was a little more than ordinary shot. It causes him to lose his memories and with each second that passes he forgets a little more and more. He will keeping forgetting untill he cant remember anything other than what i tell him to remember...Then you know what will happen after that...He will be all mine. To make matters worse. Im the only one that has the antidote." He took and vile out of his shirt and shook it infront of Pereginus. He took a step back then gave an evil grin one more time. Then he took a smoke pellet out of his pocket and made it explode. Then he was gone..With Dante.

(OOC: okay, really random...)
Although the ranger was content on staying in the boat while the others explored, Pere now had to leave the boat in search of Dante. Withdrawing his bow, the ranger entered the fog, looking for any sign of Dante's kidnapper.
"Why did we have to come to this island anyway? We were so close in own distination..." Pere muttered to himself. He easily picked up Anne's trail through the forest. Next, Pere stumbled across horsetracks that could only belong to Fearn's animal. Drawing a conclusion, the ranger began to move through the brush as if it was a part of him aiming towards the center of the island. This was his environment and no one could beat him in his environment.

"Yelena?" Elka yelled, racing after her friend. "Do you know where you're goingAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHH!!!!" she shouted. Elka had just seen the lovely lithograph of the severed head. "Curse these stupid islands," she grumbled, aiming a kick at the rocks (which only made her foot hurt).
Of course, Elka still couldn't see Fearn, which was making her very worried. Being alone or worse, lost on this island seemed to be a death sentence. "Rolf, find her!" she commanded her dog, pointing in the direction that she thought Fearn had went. But the dog only sat on the ground, staring at Elka and then back at the dirt in front of him.
"Stupid beast," Elka snarled, grabbing Rolf's collar and hauling him forward. "Don't even know how to walk, do you? Well, I'll show you!" she grunted, dragging him behind her.
Suddenly, the ground gave away under one of her feet, Grabbing the edge of the pit, she saw Fearn standing on the edge a ways in front of her. "Oh, hi!" she said stupidly, scrambling madly to try to get back up. "Mind giving me a hand here?"

Anne waved her hands frantically, looking up at the opening in the ground she fell through.
"Hey Yelena and Elka!!! Come down here, you gotta see something!!!" Anne yelled up at them. She was relieved at Elka and Fearn's presence but subconsciously wondered where Peregrinus was. She could already sense that some type of boss fight was coming up.
Anne slowly proceeded forwards down the underground path and swore she saw a large shadowed figure that was carrying something over its shoulder, like a human form.
"Hey you! Stop!" Anne began to run after the figure, thinking it was one of her friends in danger. Anne stopped dead in her tracks and jumped backwards right before a large, wall-sized blade dropped down into the ground before her, then went back up into the ceiling, waiting to drop down on her again.
"Yelena, Elka, beware!! Theres a killer obstacle course down here!!" Anne said, feeling droplets of sweat run down her face.

"Yeah, so I'm supposed to go down there?" Fearn said incredulously, circling the hole and trying to find a way to get in without killing herself. Eventually she found a side that looked like it sloped a little more, and tried to scoot down that side while grabbing onto ferns that stuck out of the rock wall. That worked for a while, until a fern she was holding on to tore out of the wall, Fearn lost her balance, and fell the last 10 feet.
"I hate you! Ow! How did you manage to get down without pulling a lemming?!" she yelled, smashing almost on top of Anne. She jumped up and brushed dirt out of her hair, disgusted. Hearing a thud, she looked past Anne, the see the metal wall-guard smashing down. "Right, so how do we get past that thing? Why are we down here in the first place? They're warnings all over the place. I saw a head picture back up there, and it didn't look too happy."

Pere had his ear pressed closely to jungle floor. As there was little to be seen, the ranger had gone to his other senses. Through the ground, the sounds of footsteps and loud voices could be heard as distanct trembles. Several trembles were almost in the exact location. With his new bearing, Pere took off at a little trot.
A wilderness trail seemed to open directly where Pere was headed and he moved silently through the undergrown. After a while, he came to a stop and pressed his ear to the ground again. He had to be close to the commotion.
