The age of man is just beginning - the dawn of our era has yet to even break, but already, we must prepare ourselves for what will inevitably prove itself to be the first of many trials to come.
We are young, and already we have committed enough blasphemies that our Creator, the First Father, Den is ready to abandon us - as he leaves, he takes his magic with him, and with that leaves the wards and enchantments that have guarded us for so long.
Now, as we're forced to strive for our own survival, the nations and empires we've built, their roots having not yet received the chance to firmly set, will be put to the test - they needn't worry about burdening the crucibles of time, not yet - they must instead focus on answering the question of whether these structures were truly built strong enough, whether these men and women inhabiting them are brave enough, whether they're smart enough, hard enough, to claim their place in the history of our world.
The climax is slowly oncoming; many are not immediately affected by Den's retreat. The magic of the First Father once drove off the creatures that stalk the Far Lands, but these are gradually growing nearer, immediately sensing the absence of the magic that once forbade them entrance onto our lands - these dark things stalk slowly closer, and yet these beasts are among the least of our threats.
Without guidance, the kingdoms now struggle amongst themselves to determine who among them is fit to rule in Den's absence - some are wise enough to retreat onto themselves, shutting their gates off to strangers and stragglers, though others now send boys and men out to beat others into submission, to claim the land that they believe to be theirs.
And yet none of this is anything, in comparison to the plot of the gods. In Den's absence, these beings expected their turn of worship, and yet the humans have begun to instead worship themselves. In light of the wards once restraining them, these beings now plot behind the scenes, manipulating the movements of kings and queens and lesser nobility; soon, though, there will be no need for restraint - soon, the blasphemers will suffer for their impiety.
The world will feel the full extent of a vengeful god's power.
Whether it's the beginning of an ending or the ending of a beginning, this chapter of our brief story is quickly rushing towards its conclusion.
With hordes of beasts verging on our doorstep, insurgents rising within our own ranks, and the rage of the gods rushing down upon us, those that have the eyes to see watch on in horror, asking amongst themselves...
Can we survive the Wrath of the Gods?

Can we survive the Wrath of the Gods?
We are currently on Part 1:
Den's absence has largely gone unnoticed within all of the major settlements, excluding Den's own kingdom within the High Lands.
A factor of this event, that escapes nobody's attention, is the influx of monsters within all of the lands. Many travelers and merchants have lost their lives, as the danger of the roads suddenly pikes. Many are choosing to not brave these; instead staying at home, within their own settlements and cities. Certain merchants even choose to abandon their profession completely, instead taking up the plow, and working the land.
These events hurt the economy on a global-scale; many kingdoms now aim to become self-sufficient, though this is much easier for some than others - certain kingdoms were built with the idea of this in mind, whereas others, such as Humel, once the trade capital of the world, are in complete turmoil. The once glorious city has tumbled into an economic depression - now that many are out of a job, a large percentage of those turn to some sort of crime. The city as a whole is in a state of chaos.
Many fared better than this, though not by much.
Signs have been posted at the onset and offset of many of the more commonly used roads -
"Travelers, be wary."
