Pere knelt and placed his palm over the recent track of a deer and felt the small warmth disappate from the spot. Smiling to himself, he silently crept along the forest floor, the ground almost being a part of him. Pere heard it before he actually saw the deer. The rough scratching of antler on wood gave it away. As it moved into view, Pere removed the bow from his back and slowly drew an arrow. Waiting for the signal, he remained motionless as the deer continued to scratch. Suddenly, a falcon's cry echoed through the forest and the deer's head turned towards the sound. With precision timing, Pere drew the arrow back just as the head turned. Poised, ready to fire, the ranger took aim at the unsuspecting deer.

Dante was walking through the woods look for a meal for his family back at home. He started walking untill he saw a really good deer it looked very big so it should last them for a week. He pulled out his bow and arrow which he really only used for hunting and pulled it back aiming right for the deers head. He waited just for the right time.....

A twig snapping in the distance caught Pere's attention. Honing in on the sound, Pere could make out a shape of blue hidden in the brush. Swfting his aim, the ranger fired his arrow towards the figure. A sharp twang ran out as the arrow stuck right above the figure's head.

Dante smiled to himself as the arrow hit the deer right in the head. He walked over to the deer then took the arrow out of his head. He picked it up and put it on his back. Then he heard a rustle in the bushes. He looked in that direction and saw someone watching. He looked at the deer then back at the guy.
[glow=blue,2,300]Oh I'm Sorry were you going to kill this?[/glow]
He set the deer back down. Then looked at him.
[glow=blue,2,300]You can have it if you want...I can find another one.[/glow]

The ranger had only been heard because he wanted to be. It wasn't polite to surprise random people in the woods. Swinging the bow back onto his back, Pere walked into the clearing.
"No, it's alright. I'll get something else for summer." Pere placed the large leather glove on his hand as Sly, the ranger's falcon, flew through the trees and landed on his hand.
"I've got other means of hunting."

He looked at the bird as it landed on his arm. He wondered how long it would take him to train his own bird to hunt for him.
[glow=blue,2,300]Woah thats pretty cool. Whats the birds name? And how long have you been training it?[/glow]
He picked the deer back up and put it over his shoulder. He did kinda need the deer because he had to take it back to his family.

Pere ruffled the falcon's feathers as it tried to smoooth them back out.
"His name is Sly, and I've had him for about four years. I got him as a chick." The ragner walked closer to the man with the deer.
"You need some help with that? It looks pretty heavy."

The deer wasn't the heavy but he could use some help carrying it.
[glow=blue,2,300]Yeah a little help would be nice my house isn't that far from here....about a 2 mile walk. You up for it?[/glow]
He set the deer down and waited for the guy to come pick up one side of the deer. It was getting late and the forest wasn't very safe at night because that was when all kinds of predators come out.

"Alright lead the way. What's your name by the way?"

Dante picked up his part of the deer then started on his way home. They walked for about an hour and Dante looked up at the sky and it was black.
[glow=blue,2,300]We Might want to pick up the pace....Carrying a big piece of meat in the middle of night which is the time animals like wolves come out to hunt in the middle of a big dense forest is not a situation you want to be in. Oh and the names Dante by the way.[/glow]

"Yeah, good idea." Pere said as he picked up the pace a little bit. Sly had taken to flying above their heads. Suddenly, a long howl rolled from the trees. The ranger jerked his head in the direction of the sound.
"They caught the scent of blood." Turning to Dante, Pere's face was set in a stern gaze.
"They're coming."

Dante heard a rustle in the bushes then looked at Pere then he set the deer down and slowly walked to the bushes. When he came to the bushes he quickly moved them apart and saw a squrriel eating some berries. He gave a sigh of relief.
[glow=blue,2,300]Its just a Squr---[/glow]
Before he could finish a big wolf jumped out of no where and tackeled him. While the wolf was on top of him he managed to pull out a dagger from out of his back pocket then stabbed in and cut open the wolves right front leg. He quickly got back by Pere side as more wolves started coming out of the bushes and they were circling them.
[glow=blue,2,300]Ok. There are about 10 of them....plus the one I wounded.[/glow]

Pere watched as the wolf tackled Dante to the ground. There wasn't much he could do to help him anyway. As the rest of the pack closed in, the ranger could feel the eyes of every wolf around him.
"Dante, put that knife away please? It might make them angry, and angry would be a bad thing right now." The wolves circled again and again, almost playing with the two humans. It was like they were waiting for something or someone.

Dante looked at him like he was crazy but he figured if he can train a hawk he must be some kinda nature guru or something. He shrugged and put the knife away.
[glow=blue,2,300]Ok so what do you figure we do now? I don't think they're gonna let us past without the deer.[/glow]
He looked at the deer then back at the wolves. Then he looked at Pere and how he figured they were gonna get out alive without giving them the deer.

While Dante blabbered on about something, Pere was searching for the leader of the pack. Several times he had tried to 'talk' with one and every time the wolf had flashed its pearl white teeth back as an answer. Suddenly, another howl echoed through the forest. However, this time it felt like it was just yards away. A massive black wolf burst through the bushes, and every other canine immediately stopped circling and sat on their houches.
"Ah, there you are." Pere said while smiling. The ranger made a jesture must like a bow to the wolf as the muted conversation between the two of them comenced.

While Pere was talking to the wolf. Dante was thinking of an elaborate way to get out of this situation alive. He looked at a tree branch that was barely attached to the tree that was right above on of the wolves. That wouldn't be enough to escape. Theres to many of them... He though. He kept looking around his surrounding areas coming up with an escape plan incase Pere's whole talk with the wolves plan failed.

The first thing Pere noticed was that the wolf refused to 'bow' back. Well that would make sense as he does overpower us. The alpha wolf's eyes shifted to Dante for a moment asking the question about that human's intentions. The ranger made sure he understood Dante was with him. However, Pere couldn't stop one of the younger wolves from snapping at Dante. Obiviously, they didn't like him.
"Dante, stop fidgeting. It's making them angry." Pere said out of the corner of his mouth. It was rude to speak in a language the wolves didn't understand.

Dante had figured out an escape plan incase things turned bad. He heard what Pere said then nodded. He used his shoe to draw a line in the dirt then just waited for Pere to finish talking to the wolf. He looked at all the wolves and saw how they really seemed to dislike him. He looked away from them and looked at the leader wolf and continued to watch Pere talk to them.

The alpha wolf admitted a low growl as it gazed upon the carcass of the deer. It was his territory, not the humans. That deer belonged to him. Pere shot him a stern look. The wolves didn't own the forest, or the creatures in it. The black wolf bared his fangs and growled fiercely. The others joined in so that the two were surrounded by gaping mouths of full of sharp teeth. The ranger was a little surprised by the wolve's behavior. Obviously, this group thought they were the rulers of the forest. Pere, however, knew different, but that didn't stop these wolves.
"Okay, that didn't go as play." He said, drawing his sword.
"We might have to fight our way out of here." Pere glanced down at the deer. There was no way to save it now.

Dante pulled out one of his knives and looked at all the wolves. Then at the deer that he had to hunt down. He really didn't want to give it to the wolvs but he really had no choice he figured. Dante looked at the tree branch that was barely attached and threw his knife so it made the tree branch fall off and land right on a wolves back. One of the wolves lunged at Dante. He pulled a smoke gernade out of his back pocket. He always had one incase he had to get out of a tight situation. He threw the gernade on the ground and smoke shot out of it. He ducked so the wolf would jump over him then on the other wolf behind him. He ran away a little bit then signaled for Pere to come and follow.
