As smoke filled the area, the alpha wolf leapt at Pere, pinning him to the ground. The ranger could smell the wolf's breath and see the saliva from its mouth drip onto the forest floor. The dark, bloodshot eyes were locked on Pere as he grinned back at the wolf dangerously. Unable to move, Pere dove his legs into the wolf's stomache and kicked him over his head. Flipping himself up, the ranger watched as the wolf disappeared into the smoke. Pere moved before the wolf could return. Putting a cloak over his mouth to prevent any intact into his lungs, Pere quickly made his way to Dante.
"Neat trick. Come on, let's get going before the smoke disappates."

Dante and Pere started to run, but while in the middle of running Dante and forgotten one thing he completely forgotten about. He stopped running then. Listened....Then he heard the wolves howl. He had completely forgotten the wolves could track there scent. The wolves probably weren't going to let Dante and Pere get away now. He looked around for a way for the wolves to lose there scent. He looked at big puddle of mud. He was going to regret this. He beckoned to Pere then slowly walked into the mud. He could here the wolves coming. Then he found some tubes by the mud puddles edge that could be used for breathing. He put his head under the mud and waited.

Pere watched as Dante entered the mud. Shaking his head slightly, Pere took a step to find a better way to lose the wolves. Suddenly, a hidden swing snapped and a rope began to wind as Pere was jerked upwards by his boot. He disappeared from sight as he let go a small yell. Finally stopping high in the trees, the ranger's falcon flutter to a branch close to him and let out a small scream.
"Shhh..." Pere said quickly, silencing the bird as he knew the wolves would be fast approaching.

Dante noticed that Pere hadn't come into the mud yet. He poked his head up above the mud then saw Pere fly up into the tree. Dante had set up that trap....he had liked that trap. He heard the wolves approaching. He climbed up the tree and started cutting the ropes but it was so llate the wolves were there...he sat there in the tree not moving hoping the wolves would move on.

Pere could hear the wolves beneath the canopy of green. He glanced at Dante covered in mud upside-down. He tried to mouth at him but was cut off as a wolf let out a long howl of anger. Obviously, they had lost their trail. Hopefully, they wouldn't see the trail of mud running up the tree. As the two patiencely sat waiting for wolves to move on, Pere wasn't aware that the rope Dante had half-way cut was slowly unwinding.

Dante had saw that the rope that was half way cut through was undwindling. He gluped then tryed holding onto the rope so it wouldn't snap. He grabbed as hard as he could but the rope was undwindling more....and more, and more.

Pere still had his head down listening to the wolves make their next move. Suddenly feeling his weight shift, he looked up to see the remaining threads unwind. Pere took in a massive intact of air from the surprise as he was suddenly falling. Without thinking, the ranger grabbed the closest things- Dante's ankles. His legs fell through the leaves, but Pere quickly pulled them up as a couple of leaves slowly drifted down towards the wolves.

Dante had pulled Pere up and then looked down and he saw the wolves leaving, but then the leaves that had fallen when Pere pulled up his legs fell right ontop of a wolf. He barked at his comrades then they all made a circle around the tree. Dante made a chriping noise that sounded like little baby birds. It seemed like they bought it and they were about to leave untill the head wolf noticed a trail of mud going up the tree. Then he growled and started barking at tree and it kept trying to climb it.
[glow=blue,2,300]Ugh...Dangit what now...We're stuck in this tree, but at least they can't climb it...[/glow]

"Yeah, good thing." Pere remarked back. The wolves growled and roared up the tree, helpless to reach their prey.
"However, it does appear we are stuck."

Dante looked down at the barking wolves. Well...We can either find some other way to get out, or stay here untill the wolves lose intrest... Dante looked for anyway to possibly get out of the tree. He saw a long branch that reached out to another trees branch. He walked onto the branch then jumped into the next tree.
[glow=blue,2,300]Hey Pere come on I think i found a way to get out of here.[/glow]

Pere followed Dante across into the other tree. However, he seemed weary of this type of travel.
"Come on, let's hurry and get as far from the wolves as possible."

Dante looked down further and saw that the trees were close enough to jump onto. He looked and saw the one tree had a river under it that went down stream. If they let the current take them it would probably take them to a city and the could lose those blasted wolves. He looked down and saw that the wolves had followed them to this tree. Dante pointed to the river.
[glow=blue,2,300]We can jump into the river and it will take us down stream to a city. Then we can lose these wolves.[/glow]

"Yeah." Pere said shakely.
"You first." He said as he tried not to touch too much of the tree.
"We need to go, now!"

Dante gave Pere a weird look.
[glow=blue,2,300]Umm Are you ok?[/glow]
He asked him. He shrugged then kept jumping across trees untill he was on the last tree above the river. He waited for Pere to catch up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Pere replied as he wiped some sweat from his brow. He tried to follow Dante. However, the large branch Dante had used to cross seemed to somehow move incredidably. Turning back, Pere could see the wolves closing in.
"Oh no." He said helplessly as he looked at Dante.

Dante looked and saw Pere who didn't want to go across the branch that kept shaking. He looked at the branch and below it wolves were under it ready t get Pere if he fell off. He waved to Pere to come across and jump.
[glow=blue,2,300]Come on Pere. You can make it.[/glow]

"No, you don't understand. The tree won't let me make it." Pere yelled back. He turned back to the wolves approaching. One jumped at the ranger who ducked under the attack. The wolf flew through the air towards the other tree. However, the wolf never made it as the tree swung a massive branch at it and sent the wolf sailing through the trees. A long howl was the only thing it admitted.
"See what I'm talking about."

Dante cussed to himself. He figured they could out run the wolves untill they got to the river. He looked down at the ground. He took a deep breath.
[glow=blue,2,300]Ok new plan....We need to jump off the tree and run as fast as we can to that river. I think we can out run them for that long....[/glow]
Dante got ready to jump off the tree when Pere was ready.

"You just down understand, do you? That tree is not going to let me cross. However, it probably wouldn't like the wolves either." Pere took a step closer as a wolf snapped at his heels.
"It's a pretty long story, and I don't think I have time to tell you about it." The ranger moved to near the end of the branch as the wolves continued to slowly advance.
"Look just go. I can lose the wolves."
