Bloodied Coast

The bloodied coast acts as the Middle Continent's northernmost stretch of sand. It is where humanity first made contact with the continent, and it is where many lives were lost. The initial clash with the giants resulted in a massacre - it is unknown if the sand was red before the arrival of the man, but it is undeniably so now. The blood spilt by such a large amount of men and giants combined is said to have stained both the sand and water red. It is also said the deed was done by the gods, to serve as reminder of the worth of a life.
The animals seem to embrace this - apart from a few straggling gulls and scuttling crabs, these beaches are all but void of native life. Sea creatures keep their distance, while land animals have all but abandoned the stretch of land.
A network of caves stretches throughout the beach, and leads some way into the depths of the land.

Alfrit's Blessing

Alfrit's Blessing marked the end of the war between giant and man. Alfrit, the king of the giants, offered himself as a sacrifice upon the gods to cease the shed of blood between the humans and his people.
So it was that he became cast into stone; his body was converted into a great hill, and he remains this way today. A small settlement of humans has converged near its basin, began by warriors that served witness to the spectacle at the war's end. They remain primarily secluded from the rest of the nations - some speculate they maintain some sort of relationship with the giants.

A sweep of grass-covered flatlands that make up much of the central Middle Continent. Many creatures, man and beast alike, claim this area to be home. Few nomadic people can be still be found circulating the area, though the occasional camp of giants or troupe of rogues are much more commonly sprung upon. Certain tracks of land are worn thin from traveling caravans - entertainers and merchants alike often take route in this area between cities; their paths can be easily followed, and guards often stalk these in an effort to maintain safety and peace.

The Ilean forest is a mass of trees that spreads throughout a large amount of the Middle Continent's western portions. It is hard to move through their mass without intruding on some sort of life - game such as boar and deer stalk freely through the trees, though predatorial animals move just as easily.
Stranger things still are said to lurk deep within the forest's mass. Talking trees, ancient spirits, and the elusive fairy-creatures are all said to reside within the woods of Ilean. However, dangerous creatures wait in the darkness, the giants have yet to abandon much of these areas, and you're drawing awfully close to the Far Lands...

Estermark is sunk deep into the lands as the great marshlands of the east. The marshes are slow to begin, and are encompassed by a variety of trees. Many free themselves from the forest only to find their selves trapped in the grasp of the marsh. A thick mist spreads from the marsh, acting as a potential hazard to a person's visage. Strange shadows lurk in the obscurity of the haze.
Many rare plants are native to this area; a person specializing in herbology may find themselves requiring certain ingredients from here.
Quite a few rogues and runaways have established homes for themselves in the humidity of this area. Powerful spirits are known to lurk in the depths of the marsh, along with more natural dangers.

Giant Tooth Ridge

Giant Tooth Ridge acts as humanity's silent protector from the Far Lands. The range of mountains makes passage to and from the Far Lands of the east a very complicated procedure, as the mountains, while smaller than many, are sharp in incline and home to a variety of nasty adversaries. To either side rests the expanse of either the north or south sea, and their namesake is in more than just visage; the giants that have yet to incorporate themselves into the Far Lands for whatever reason are known to populate the various caves and crevices of this mountain ridge.
Strange teethed birds whose feather has given way to leather and wingspan surpasses the size of a man are also known to call the mountains home.

Board Description
Middle Continent
The largest mass of ground known to the lands, this continent divides the North and South Seas.
More kingdoms and nations call the Middle Continent their home than do any other. It acts as a natural bridge between either of the Far Lands and as such, can be a land of great danger - and great opportunity.

Elka: This would make it so one person's voice for a character doesn't become overwhelming.
reisamu: I actually like Elka's idea... We could see the interpretations. However, I'm not so sure about it being a week for people to play a certain character. Maybe at the max, 3 days, but a week would expend a lot of time... And I believe a person would know
reisamu: whether they are comfortable with a character within the first day, or even hours pending on how much they put into it y'know?
Rehjul: Hi, guys; sorry for my recent absence - been tackling a lot of issues. Heading out to run some drills with the fire department right now; once I get back I'll be able to finish work on the forums. I think your idea would work very well, Elka. The length of
Rehjul: the rotations can be discussed later. I'll create a thread regarding it once I get back.
jalista: I think that's a good idea, but maybe 3 threads instead of three days? Three days isn't long if your partner isn't really active.
reisamu: No worries Knight. I must apologize for my absence here as well. Work and school have been getting the better of me. I have been working on my character sheet little by little though. So expect that soon. ^^
Aria: Hey guys! sorry about the absence... School started in fast for me, but i think i've finally gotten the feel of it. I agree with Elka rotating the position but maybe in giving that person a post limit instead of a time limit, since it takes some people to
Aria: more time to reply than others! Otherwise canons (as sean knows) would be a great idea to get things really started here on the forum.
Rehjul: Okay. I'm officially back now.
Rehjul: I'm very excited to see what sort of character you come up with, Reisamu, and am looking forward to having you begin adventuring with us!
Rehjul: I'd also fully support Jalista's idea. I believe that may be the best way to go, though I would perhaps bump that to five threads.
Rehjul: Sorry, Jalista. I was hoping to have a reply up before classes began, but it doesn't seem like that will be happening. However, it'll be completed and posted as soon as I return.
jalista: I'll hopefully have a reply up for you tonight, Knight.
Rehjul: Sorry for the wait - I'll have yours posted tonight!
Rehjul: Okay! I was a day later than I'd hoped to be, but it is up!
Elka: Hey, guys. Sorry I haven't been around. Work was rough the last two weeks. I'm done with it now until school, though, so I hope to be able to start getting things done soon and join a thread here.
Rehjul: Not a problem! Real life should definitely take precedent, and I hope things have gotten better with your job. I've spoken to Reisamu, and he'll hopefully have his character up and be ready to join in soon, too. The two of you may be able to get something
Rehjul: worked out, if either of you held an interest.
Elka: .
