The Market

Haven's market holds more life than some smaller kingdoms hold in their entirety. Stalls are squeezed beside stalls, and women and children move swiftly throughout, surveying the goods offered by the vendors.
Stalls are established for all sorts of items. A jeweler stands behind a cart draped with a satin curtain, while a toy vendor is perched resting in a chair behind his own wooden stall, whittling away on a new invention. Many vendors call out to potential customers, attempting to coerce passerbys into trying their newly cooked breads, or smoked meat, or fresh fish. Occasionally, somebody can be heard cursing a thief - the likes of which is often swiftly apprehended by patrolling guards. To the surprise of many, certain citizens also aid in performing a citizen's arrest of certain burglars and thieves; the citizens of this kingdom tend to hold enough pride in their nation that they desire to protect it.

The Gardens

On the outer edges of Haven's first level is a strangely natural indoor park. A thick grass suddenly appears on the previously stone floor, littered with a variety of other flora. Farther in, the creators of the gardens seem to have even managed to import several passive forms of fauna; squirrels, rabbits, and the occasional deer can be seen grazing fleetingly, if you're lucky enough to catch a glance. A single stream flows in from the outside world, and you wonder if this could be a potential fallacy in their otherwise sound security measures.
Children play freely in the more open areas of the gardens, while couples tend to populate the darker and more isolated corners.

The Dirty Fighter

Contrary to its name, the Dirty Fighter is kept impeccably clean. Its staff is friendly and jovial, and they seem to genuinely enjoy interacting with their customers. Chefs in the back work to prepare meals heavy in meats and vegetables, but absent of almost any sort of grains. The lighting within the restaurant is a bit dim, and lit by way of candlelight, lending the place a formal feel. Several tables sit in the open, while booths tucked away in the corners allow for a more secluded environment. At the front of the restaurant lies the bar. You may have a hard time wrestling a seat away from the locals, if you desire to grab a drink. The only sort offered at affordable prices are heavier meads, in any case.

In the commotion of the city, it can occasionally take first-time visitors some time to locate the wooden stairs that allow them to elevate to the city's first above-ground level.

Board Description
The City of Haven
The city of Haven stands tall. Emerging from the final tunnel, you are capable of looking up to see the dome's walls span unimaginable heights. Life thrives around you - the city's engineers, magicians, and chemists, have worked hard to create a very natural environment within the very unnatural structure. The trickle of a river can be heard in the distance, running through the various pastures that have been constructed within Haven's walls. Before you, men and women bustle about. Children run in play, women can be seen shopping and gossiping throughout the marketplace, and men march about on the course of their jobs. The hum of life is deafening; a thousand voices conjure into a single rhythm, and this is just the first floor. You can see the platforms of other floors clearly from here, and it is obvious that they are just as lively.

Elka: This would make it so one person's voice for a character doesn't become overwhelming.
reisamu: I actually like Elka's idea... We could see the interpretations. However, I'm not so sure about it being a week for people to play a certain character. Maybe at the max, 3 days, but a week would expend a lot of time... And I believe a person would know
reisamu: whether they are comfortable with a character within the first day, or even hours pending on how much they put into it y'know?
Rehjul: Hi, guys; sorry for my recent absence - been tackling a lot of issues. Heading out to run some drills with the fire department right now; once I get back I'll be able to finish work on the forums. I think your idea would work very well, Elka. The length of
Rehjul: the rotations can be discussed later. I'll create a thread regarding it once I get back.
jalista: I think that's a good idea, but maybe 3 threads instead of three days? Three days isn't long if your partner isn't really active.
reisamu: No worries Knight. I must apologize for my absence here as well. Work and school have been getting the better of me. I have been working on my character sheet little by little though. So expect that soon. ^^
Aria: Hey guys! sorry about the absence... School started in fast for me, but i think i've finally gotten the feel of it. I agree with Elka rotating the position but maybe in giving that person a post limit instead of a time limit, since it takes some people to
Aria: more time to reply than others! Otherwise canons (as sean knows) would be a great idea to get things really started here on the forum.
Rehjul: Okay. I'm officially back now.
Rehjul: I'm very excited to see what sort of character you come up with, Reisamu, and am looking forward to having you begin adventuring with us!
Rehjul: I'd also fully support Jalista's idea. I believe that may be the best way to go, though I would perhaps bump that to five threads.
Rehjul: Sorry, Jalista. I was hoping to have a reply up before classes began, but it doesn't seem like that will be happening. However, it'll be completed and posted as soon as I return.
jalista: I'll hopefully have a reply up for you tonight, Knight.
Rehjul: Sorry for the wait - I'll have yours posted tonight!
Rehjul: Okay! I was a day later than I'd hoped to be, but it is up!
Elka: Hey, guys. Sorry I haven't been around. Work was rough the last two weeks. I'm done with it now until school, though, so I hope to be able to start getting things done soon and join a thread here.
Rehjul: Not a problem! Real life should definitely take precedent, and I hope things have gotten better with your job. I've spoken to Reisamu, and he'll hopefully have his character up and be ready to join in soon, too. The two of you may be able to get something
Rehjul: worked out, if either of you held an interest.
Elka: .
