Den's Throne

Den's Throne is humanity's point of origin - the city has been carved into the hull of the great mountain, Orren. Even as near as you are to Orren's peak, the Red Tower still rises to meet you. Spiral staircases carved of marble and stone lead you down the city's treacherous mountain paths. Residential halls are carved into the mountain's ridges, a direct result of the city's sudden spike in population. Far below, as the stairs give way to land once more, sits the town square; market stalls and stores have been established, and a large park has been constructed in one corner of the basin area. Near this sits a small schoolhouse. Men, women, and children hurry about busily - no one here trains for war, and few work the land. However, many scholars seek knowledge from within the Tower.

Ignoring the Throne's entryway, a person can choose to continue upwards - towards the top of Orren. The journey is far from easy, but for those with knowledge of what they're seeking, the rewards can be great.
The path leading to the city's entry gives way; you're now left to make your own path. As you climb, you face the danger of rock slides and avalanches - the bits of rock that slide down beside you only serve as a reminder to the danger of your height.
Orren's head is the highest point in the world. The cold wind blows with enough force to threaten to push you off. Here, you stand above even the clouds. Ocean surrounds you for miles, but in the far distance you can see the form of the Middle Continent, and nearer, is the Spine.
In the beginning, Den too stood here, upon his initial arrival to the lands. His presence created a permanent link, bonding the peak forever with the spiritual realm; the veil dividing the two worlds is at its weakest point here. Be warned; magicians far more skilled than you have attempted to manipulate this, and the Divide devoured them for it, and men are not the only entities that work to break through to the other side... Unexpected dangers may await you, provided you manage to make it to the top.

Board Description
Orren
Though its hull was long ago carved clean by the hands of humanity and their gods, the great mountain of Orren still stands proudly amidst the center of Aries. Hollowed as it is, its grasp reaches farther than humanity could ever hope to reach - its peak is the highest point in the world, and is renowned for its connection with the spiritual realm.
Within the mountain reside the population of Den's Throne. The city itself is guarded by the mass of the mountain; those hoping to reach the city must either infiltrate the maze of tunnels dug beneath, the likes of which are designated for merchants and officials, or scale nearly half the mountain's snow-laden height to access the city's guarded gates. The path has been worn thin, and guards are occasionally stationed to protect its length. As such, the hike is a relatively safe one, for the average adventurer.

Elka: This would make it so one person's voice for a character doesn't become overwhelming.
reisamu: I actually like Elka's idea... We could see the interpretations. However, I'm not so sure about it being a week for people to play a certain character. Maybe at the max, 3 days, but a week would expend a lot of time... And I believe a person would know
reisamu: whether they are comfortable with a character within the first day, or even hours pending on how much they put into it y'know?
Rehjul: Hi, guys; sorry for my recent absence - been tackling a lot of issues. Heading out to run some drills with the fire department right now; once I get back I'll be able to finish work on the forums. I think your idea would work very well, Elka. The length of
Rehjul: the rotations can be discussed later. I'll create a thread regarding it once I get back.
jalista: I think that's a good idea, but maybe 3 threads instead of three days? Three days isn't long if your partner isn't really active.
reisamu: No worries Knight. I must apologize for my absence here as well. Work and school have been getting the better of me. I have been working on my character sheet little by little though. So expect that soon. ^^
Aria: Hey guys! sorry about the absence... School started in fast for me, but i think i've finally gotten the feel of it. I agree with Elka rotating the position but maybe in giving that person a post limit instead of a time limit, since it takes some people to
Aria: more time to reply than others! Otherwise canons (as sean knows) would be a great idea to get things really started here on the forum.
Rehjul: Okay. I'm officially back now.
Rehjul: I'm very excited to see what sort of character you come up with, Reisamu, and am looking forward to having you begin adventuring with us!
Rehjul: I'd also fully support Jalista's idea. I believe that may be the best way to go, though I would perhaps bump that to five threads.
Rehjul: Sorry, Jalista. I was hoping to have a reply up before classes began, but it doesn't seem like that will be happening. However, it'll be completed and posted as soon as I return.
jalista: I'll hopefully have a reply up for you tonight, Knight.
Rehjul: Sorry for the wait - I'll have yours posted tonight!
Rehjul: Okay! I was a day later than I'd hoped to be, but it is up!
Elka: Hey, guys. Sorry I haven't been around. Work was rough the last two weeks. I'm done with it now until school, though, so I hope to be able to start getting things done soon and join a thread here.
Rehjul: Not a problem! Real life should definitely take precedent, and I hope things have gotten better with your job. I've spoken to Reisamu, and he'll hopefully have his character up and be ready to join in soon, too. The two of you may be able to get something
Rehjul: worked out, if either of you held an interest.
Elka: .
